Prof. Dr. Paterek Tomasz invited Dr Yap to give a lecture on quantum computers to undergraduate and postgraduate students from Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM).

A few of us from the MyQI initiative, organized by Prof. Raymond from University Malaya, are giving an express course on Quantum Information Science and Technology. The instructors are: Prof. Dr Raymond Ooi, FASc (UM), Prof. Dr Tomasz Paterek (Xiamen University), and Dr Yap Yung Szen (UTM). They will be covering the following topics:
Quantum communications using quantum properties of light provide unconditional security against eavesdropping (Prof. Dr. Raymond Ooi, UM)
Quantum computation: Controlling Qubits for Superconducting and Spin-based Quantum Computers (Dr Yap Yung Szen, UTM)
Concepts and methods of classical and quantum information theory (Prof. Dr Tomasz Paterek, XMUM)

First MyQI Meeting at Xiamen University Malaysia

Researchers on Quantum Information garthered for the first time to meet up at Xiamen University Malaysia. Participants from seven universities gathered and the meeting lasted for 2 days. The meeting consisted of talks by the participants as well as discussion on the formation of the Malaysia Quantum Information Initiative (MyQI).
