We are a coalition of quantum information researchers from various universities in Malaysia. This is our initiative to develop and support the quantum ecosystem in Malaysia.
Quantum information is a field of study that stores information in qubits and manipulates them using methods such as superpositions and entanglement—both of which are unavailable in classical computing.
These qubits are the quantum version of the classical bits of 0s and 1s, and their quantum properties allows us to develop new algorithms to solve certain types of problems are difficult even for supercomputers and new techniques for communication that are more secure than those currently used in classical cybersecurity.
Would you like to learn more about quantum computers or any specific topics such as quantum cryptography or quantum algorithms?
Please contact us and we can arrange for a talk or even a workshop.
Awareness
We educate and promote awareness about quantum information science and technology among students, researchers, general public, as well as for the industry
Reference Point
We know that quantum information is confusing.
One does not know who to reach out and to communicate about quantum computing.
This is where we come in. We will provide assistance to the community, industry, researchers, government agencies and ministries that would like to learn more about quantum computing.
We are also working closely with our regional neighbours to form the ASEAN Quantum Network! Please visit their website for more information.
Quantum Information Community
This coalition provides a platform for Quantum Information students and researchers in Malaysia to consolidate our efforts towards our common objectives -- to develop the quantum information science and technology, both at the national and international levels.
At the very least, we can let local researchers connect and share their findings and have a space for the future generation to interact.
Malaysia is preparing for the Quantum Era and one of the the initiative is to prepare a national strategy. Members of MyQI were given the privilage of being part of the workshop and to help shape Malaysia's future.
The representatives were:
Prof. Dr. Jesni Shamsul (IIUM)
Prof. Raymond Ooi (UM)
Prof. Madya Dr. Norshamsuri Ali @ Hasim (UniMAP)
Prof. Madya Dr. Nurisya Mohd Shah (UPM)
Dr. Siti Munirah Mohd (USIM)
Dr. Rinie Narinie Mohd Nasir (UiTM)
Dr. Yap Yung Szen (UTM)
Our researchers are divided into following thrust areas:
Quantum Communication & Security
Quantum Algorithms and Theories
Quantum Computing Technologies
Quantum Humanities
